Action Requested
Requesting approval to extend the Duwamish Basin Steward Interlocal
Agreement (ILA) to December 31, 2027 consistent with original intent of the
agreement.

Background
• The Port entered into a five-year Inter-Local Agreement in 2022 with Tukwila, Seattle, and King County to
fund the Duwamish Basin Steward position through 2027
• Funds stewardship capacity for the Duwamish Service Area with following focus:
- Community engagement and partner coordination for stewardship activities
- Salmon habitat restoration activities
- Land conservation
- Stormwater management, floodplain restoration, and climate adaptation using nature-based solutions

• Port's ILA expires December 31 this year -- does not allow for the fifth year of participation w/ partners
(this was a clerical error)
• Request is to extend ILA through 2027 consistent with original intent
