COMMISSION SPECIAL MEETING
February 6, 2025
The Port of Seattle Commission met in a special meeting on February 6, 2025. The meeting was
held at the Hyatt Regency Lake Washington, located at 1053 Lake Washington Blvd N, Renton,
Washington 98056. All Commissioners were in attendance.
1. CALL to ORDER
Pursuant to RCW 42.30 and Article IV, Section 8, of the commission bylaws, the meeting convened
at 10:45 a.m. for the purpose of conducting a Commission organizing and planning retreat with the
Executive Leadership team.
This meeting was held on location only.
2. ITEM OF BUSINESS
The Commissioner, Commission Office staff, and the Executive Leadership Team spent time in a
facilitated exercise with Julie Pham of the consulting practice CuriosityBased.
The facilitated exercise was followed by presentations from the Executive Director related to
Executive Director priorities and from the External Relations Department regarding communications;
government relations and regional transportation; community engagement; and strategic initiatives
for 2025.
Members of the Commission reviewed the 2025 travel and conference engagement calendar, as
well as the policy calendar.
Discussion ensued in part regarding:
celebrating recovery from the 2024 cyberattack;
Commission engagement in the community in support of the efficient delivery of projects;
impacts of the new federal administration;
2024 international engagement highlights and building presence and relationships;
blog and Commissioner social media platforms;
driving engagement to the Commission’s website;
potentially adding features to the SEA app to increase utilization and access to Port
information;

the engagement process around the Port’s Sustainable Airport Master Plan and the NEPA
environmental policy act processes;
engagement on the eastside and holding Port educational sessions for civic leaders;
engaging youth from local universities;
scheduling a requested Vashon Island listening/educational session;
continuing to drive sustainable aviation fuels discussions and progress; and
addressing airport congestion particularly in readying for 2026 FIFA events.
3. ADJOURNMENT
The meeting adjourned at approximately 3:24 p.m.
