Develop full design and contract documents for obstruction tree
removal and replacement;
Negotiate and obtain avigation easements;
Pay in-lieu fees to Washington State Department of Transportation
(WSDOT) and/or local jurisdictions to replace trees removed on
their property.

Flight Corridor Safety Program - Overview

An ongoing program to remove obstructions around
SEA to enhance safety during takeoffs and landings
and replant in their place, native, lower height trees
Obstructions either are penetrating SEAs airspace
or are expected, within approximately the next five
years, to penetrate SEAs airspace
Program first launched in 2014 and updated every
five years. The next program should launch in 2029.
