A RESOLUTION of the Port of Seattle Commission to adopt the 2021 versions of 5
the Washington State building codes as required by 6
RCW 19.27.031 and to repeal Resolution No. 3783. 7

WHEREAS, the voters of King County authorized and approved the formation of a port 10
district coterminous with King County to be known as the Port of Seattle in a special election on 11
September 5, 1911; and 12

WHEREAS, the Port of Seattle Commission is the legally constituted governing body of 14
the Port of Seattle; and 15
16
WHEREAS, the Port Commission wishes the Airport Building Code to comply with the 17
current provisions of Washington State law by adopting the 2021 International Codes as set forth 18
in RCW 19.27.031 by the Washington State Legislature to comprise the Airport Building Code. 19

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Port of Seattle Commission as 21
follows: 22

SECTION 1. Resolution No. 3783 is repealed. The 2021 International Building Codes 24
and the 2021 Uniform Plumbing Code, as adopted and defined by Chapter 19.27.31 RCW and 25
included in Title 13 of the City of SeaTac Code are hereby adopted. 26

SECTION 2. The effective date of this Resolution is March 15, 2024. 28

SECTION 3. The Rules of Airport Construction are to be updated to reference the newly 30
adopted codes. 31

held this 12 day of March, 2024, and duly authenticated in open session by the signatures of the 35
