Purpose

Marine Maintenance is responsible for the procurement, maintenance,
and management of over 600 assets which include 200 light and heavy
fleet vehicles, forklifts, personnel lifts and boats .
These includes pool vehicles and assigned vehicles for Marine
Maintenance, Corporate, Port Construction Services, and Engineering.
Marine Maintenance seeks authorization to execute the procurement
of 2024 Fleet Purchases not to exceed $5,955,000.
Marine Maintenance (MM) Fleet Team, working with the Central
Purchasing Office and by CPO-5 guidelines, requests authorization to
coordinate the acquisition of all requested fleet assets based on
operational needs and performance criteria identified by the MM Fleet
Management Oversight Team (FMOT).
Background
• The Maritime Climate and Air Action Plan (MCAAP) detailed the proactive electrification goals of the Maritime Division,
• Fleet Goal: Transitioning to 100% electric vehicles by 2040 by prioritizing fleet conversions to electrified vehicles when feasible for
operational necessity.
• This request aligns with MCAAP by transitioning electrified vehicles into the Maritime and Corporate Division(s), with 27 of the requested
assets anticipated to be alternative fuel source vehicles, along with purchase of remote solar charging units for accessible EV charging in
areas where electrical infrastructure is not available.
