A RESOLUTION of the Port of Seattle Commission to adopt the 2021 versions of 7
the Washington State building codes as required by 8
RCW 19.27.031 and to repeal Resolution 3783. 9

WHEREAS, the voters of King County authorized and approved the formation of a port 12
district coterminous with King County to be known as the Port of Seattle in a special election on 13
September 5, 1911; and 14

WHEREAS, the Port of Seattle Commission is the legally constituted governing body of 16
the Port of Seattle; and 17

WHEREAS, the Port Commission wishes the Airport Building Code to comply with the 19
current provisions of Washington State law by adopting the 2021 International Codes as set forth 20
in RCW 19.27.031 by the Washington State Legislature to comprise the Airport Building Code. 21

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Port of Seattle Commission as 23
follows: 24

SECTION 1. Resolution No. 3783 is repealed. The 2021 International Building Codes 26
and the 2021 Uniform Plumbing Code, as adopted and defined by Chapter 19.27.31 RCW and 27
included in Title 13 of the City of SeaTac Code are hereby adopted. 28

SECTION 2. The effective date of this resolution is March 15, 2024. 30

SECTION 3. The Rules of Airport Construction are to be updated to reference the newly 32
adopted codes. 33
