Greetings Commissioners,
I am Adam C. Powers, the Executive Director of Key Tech Labs. We previously collaborated during
Cycle 2 of the SKCCIF , our program focusing on forging pathways to green jobs and championing
environmental stewardship.
The significance of this fund cannot be overstated, particularly in communities we serve. Historically,
there has been a palpable shortfall in funding for trades, with green jobs facing an even more
pronounced deficit. This fund has been instrumental in facilitating our engagement with key
stakeholders in the green sector, such as Sphere Solar Energy a BIPOC-owned and operated solar
enterprise within Washington state. Our BIPOC youth, in particular, are in dire need of transparent
and straightforward avenues into the rapidly growing green industry. This fund stands as a beacon of
hope and a chance for us to construct that bridge.
I am eager to delve deeper into this topic and would be grateful for an opportunity to discuss it further
at the commission meeting this Tuesday.
May the sun always shine down upon you
Adam C. Powers
