Pier 69 Underdock Utility Replacement
• Underdock utilities are approximately 30 years of age -- well exceeded
the typical 20-year service life
• 2019 underdock utility condition assessment revealed some utilities are
in poor to very poor condition
• Utilities of concerns: electrical power, communications, sanitary sewer,
potable water, and fire protection water lines
• Proactively replacing the end-of-life underdock utilities would allow
scheduled replacement and avoid the need to perform emergency
repairs at a higher cost and prolonged operational impacts
