Honorable Commissioners,

The City of Issaquah is supportive of the Port of Seattle’s Economic Development

Partnership Program. This cooperative program has provided cities such as

Issaquah with the ability to enhance economic development efforts around small

business development, business recruitment and workforce development. When the

pandemic hit, Port staff were quick to respond to the changing needs facing

Issaquah and worked to amend our scope to address changing business needs.

The Port staff recommendation for the 2021 program is in line with what cities like

Issaquah needs – the ability to focus our efforts to retain businesses and help them

pivot to the “new normal” conditions of post COVID.

We greatly appreciate the Port of Seattle’s support for economic development

activities throughout King County.
