SUBJECT: Preview of 2019 Maritime Division Business Plan and Budget Development
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The purpose of this briefing is to provide the Commission an overview of the Maritime Division
Business Plan and a preview of the budget development. Staff would also like to seek the
Commission’s feedback on the business plan and guidance on preparation of the 2019 budget.
This is one of a series of business plan and budget briefings to the Commission starting from
May prior to the formal Commission reviews and approvals of the 2019 budget from September
to November.
The 2019 Business Plan and Budget Development briefing will provide background on strategic
issues and linkages to the Century Agenda and Long Range Plan; identify the major challenges
facing the Maritime division; and discuss strategies to address these challenges. The briefing
will also highlight 2019 priorities and key initiatives.
