The Port of Seattle Commission hereby adopts the attached charter of the Aviation Special 12
Committee to develop recommendations and provide oversight in pursuit of the Port’s Century 13
Agenda goal to meet the region’s air transportation needs at Seattle-Tacoma International 14
Airport for the next 25 years and encourage the cost-effective expansion of domestic and 15
international passenger and cargo service as further elaborated in the attached charter. 16

STATEMENT IN SUPPORT OF THE MOTION 19

The Aviation Special Committee, chaired by Stephanie Bowman and Peter Steinbrueck, has 21
been chartered primarily to conduct in-depth oversight of the complex Sustainable Airport 22
Master Plan and to prepare the chairs to participate in the regional air transportation 23
discussion. 24

Significant infrastructure projects are currently underway at the airport and will receive the 26
additional scrutiny necessary to provide the full Commission with a clear picture of how those 27
projects are proceeding. 28

The primary outcome of this Committee will be to advance the SAMP planning process to 30
environmental review and to provide oversight on matters related to SAMP, regional air 31
transportation discussions, and airport infrastructure progress. 32
