NOTICE
SEATTLE -- The Port of Seattle Century Agenda Committee will
convene a Special Meeting from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday,
November 8, 2011, at Port of Seattle Headquarters, Commission
Chambers, Pier 69, 2711 Alaskan Way, Seattle, Washington. The
meeting will be audio and video recorded to be accessible during or
after the meeting.
The meeting will feature a roundtable discussion on “Funding our
Strategic Goals” Our panelists will engage in a robust discussion on
how the Port will fund its strategic initiatives. The overarching Century
Agenda goal is to add 100,000 jobs to the regional economy, so an
important consideration we face is how to best steward public funds in
support of that goal and its other strategic components?
This roundtable, the last in a series of nine, is the final stage of the
Port’s three-year strategic planning process called the Century Agenda.
This stage will establish long-range strategic goals for the next quarter-
century. As the year progresses, the Committee will synthesize goals
that emerged from previous public roundtable discussions on big
questions that drive the Port’s direction in pursuit of its mission of
economic development generating jobs, minimizing our environmental
footprint, anchoring urban industrial lands, and wisely stewarding the
public’s tax dollars.
