NOTICE
SEATTLE -- The Port of Seattle Century Agenda Committee will
convene a Special Meeting from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon on Tuesday,
May 10, 2011, at Port of Seattle Headquarters, Commission Chambers,
Pier 69, 2711 Alaskan Way, Seattle, Washington. The meeting will be
audio and video recorded to be accessible during or after the meeting.
The meeting will feature a roundtable discussion on “Moving Cargo:
Logistics & Growing Exports” with invited panel members. We will be
looking at the implications of the changing global supply chain, how we
differentiate ourselves from our competition, new opportunities in both
sea and air cargo, and the importance improvement to transportation
infrastructure.
This roundtable is part of the final stage of the Port’s three-year
strategic planning process called the Century Agenda. This stage will
establish long-range strategic goals for the next quarter-century. As the
year progresses, the Committee will be hosting regular roundtables with
experts to publicly discuss the big questions that drive the Port’s
direction in pursuit of its mission of economic development – generating
jobs, minimizing our environmental footprint, anchoring urban industrial
lands, and wisely stewarding the public’s tax dollars.
